Irreversible Deposition of Line Segment Mixtures on a Square Lattice: Monte Carlo Study
نویسنده
چکیده
We have studied kinetics of random sequential adsorption of mixtures on a square lattice using Monte Carlo method. Mixtures of linear short segments and long segments were deposited with the probability p and 1− p, respectively. For fixed lengths of each segment in the mixture, the jamming limits decrease when p increases. The jamming limits of mixtures always are greater than those of the pure shortor long-segment deposition. For fixed p and fixed length of the short segments, the jamming limits have a maximum when the length of the long segment increases. We conjectured a kinetic equation for the jamming coverage based on the data fitting. PACS: 05.70.Ln, 68.10.Jy e-mail:[email protected]

Monte Carlo analysis of percolation of line segments on a square lattice.
A Monte Carlo analysis of percolation of line-segments on a square lattice. Abstract We study the percolative properties of bi-dimensional systems generated by a random sequential adsorption of line-segments on a square lattice. As the segment length grows, the percolation threshold decreases , goes through a minimum and then increases slowly for large segments. We explain this non-monotonic be...

Random sequential adsorption (RSA) models have been studied [1] due to their relevance to deposition processes on surfaces. The depositing particles are represented by hard-core extended objects; they are not allowed to overlap. Numerical Monte Carlo studies and analytical considerations are reported for 1 D and 2D models of multilayer adsorption processes. Deposition without screening is inves...

We study the deposition of line segments on a two-dimensional square lattice. The estimates for the coverage at jamming obtained by Monte-Carlo simulations and by 7 th-order time-series expansion are successfully compared. The non-trivial limit of adsorption of infinitely long segments is studied, and the lattice coverage is consistently obtained using these two approaches.
متن کاملFinite-size Scaling Study of the Ballistic Deposition Model in (1 + 1)-dimensions
We performed extensive Monte Carlo simulations of the ballistic deposition model in (1 + 1)-dimensions for several system sizes up to 1280 lattice constants, on the square lattice. Though the ballistic deposition model is generally accepted to belong to the Kardar-Parisi-Zhang (KPZ) universality class, strong corrections to scaling prevent numerical estimates of the exponents close to the asymp...
